Marcus Seas has been with the Division of Refuse Collection for 10 years. He has served in a variety of
capacities as a Management Analyst, and is currently the division’s Geospatial Information Systems
Analyst. Marcus manages a variety of projects with a focus on routing. Over the last several years Refuse
Collection has been making strides in adopting new technology in order to find efficiencies, and improve
the data collection capabilities of the entire fleet. Marcus orchestrated an effort in 2020 to utilize the
navigational equipment in the trucks to record a citywide litter index. The index has been adopted by a
variety of agencies in the City of Columbus as a measurement for litter cleanup efforts. The index is now
a recurring effort that takes place every July.
