Anna Bunce

City Traffic Engineer

City of Centennial, CO

Anna Bunce joined the City of Centennial as its full time City Traffic Engineer through the City’s contract with Jacobs Engineering in September of 2021.   She has over 20 years of experience in the transportation industry, having started boots on the ground as a traffic signal technician, and has spent the vast majority of that time working directly for several metro Denver area jurisdictions.   Just prior to her current position she was working on the private side on multiple projects in the metro Denver area as well as out of state projects in California, Oregon, Texas, and Washington.   She enjoys combining her traffic signal and operational background with other disciplines and subject matter areas to collaborate on Smart City/Smart Community efforts for greater public benefit.

Anna has a Bachelor’s degree in Math and Classics from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia; a Master’s degree in Applied Math from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Colorado; a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado in Denver, Colorado; is a licensed Professional Engineer in the states of Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, and Washington; and is a licensed Professional Traffic Operations Engineer.

She is a firm believer in Strengths-based leadership (Top 5: Strategic, Achiever, Learner, Activator, Input) and Wheaton’s Law, loves to read and explore new restaurants and cuisines, and is an avid Fluevog fan.   Her hair color changes frequently but her tattoos are permanent.  She is a proud geek and STEMinist.
