Renée Peet is Vice President of Product Management and Marketing for Sensus, Xylem’s flagship smart
metering brand. She sits on the global leadership team for Xylem’s Measurement and Control Solutions
(M&CS) segment, which helps customers deliver clean, safe, and affordable water and energy. By
creating insights from information, customers are able to increase operational and capital efficiency.
M&CS represents 33% of Xylem’s annual revenue.
As an industry thought leader with a focus on marketing and innovation, Renée has transformed the
Sensus brand and positioned it to compete in the market of modern water technology. During her 7.5-
year tenure at Xylem, Sensus has grown from $750M to $1B. Renée led the development of Sensus’
smart cities strategy, which has expanded its reach across Xylem, driving market leadership in the
industry.
Combining her passion for creating opportunities with her exceptional ability to build high-performing
teams, she has invested in organization-wide capability development in areas critical to the progress of
marketing and innovation. A few of these areas include agile methodology, user experience (UX), and
customer experience (CX).
Renée co-chairs Xylem’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council and is an active member of the
enterprise Global Marketing and Global Innovation, Technology, and Products Councils.
She has spoken at Smart Cities Connect, EUCI Women in Energy, Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster,
NC RIoT, Columbia University, and The American University in Mexico on marketing, IoT, women in
industry, smart cities, and smart infrastructure.
Prior to joining Xylem, Renée held leadership roles at marketing and branding agencies – Siegel Siegel +
Gale, Sullivan, and BrandImage – in New York City. After 2.5 years of quality time with her newborn
twins, she established her own consulting firm before being recruited to join Sensus during a PE
turnaround.
Renée has led marketing programs for global brands such as P&G, Johnson & Johnson, Staples,
American Express, Coca Cola, Motorola, and Fidelity. Her education and career have taken her around
the world from New York City to San Francisco, London, Rotterdam, and Manila.
She holds a Master of Business Administration in Strategy and Marketing from Rotterdam School of
Management at Erasmus University and a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing and Political Science from
the University of Arizona.
She currently lives in Chapel Hill where you are most likely to ind her working in the garden or baking with
her husband and 10-year-old twin daughters.
