Amanda Daflos, the inaugural Executive Director of the Bloomberg Center for Public Innovation at Johns Hopkins University, brings more than 25 years of experience in public innovation to her role. Most recently, as the director of Los Angeles Innovation Team (i-team) and the city’s Chief Innovation Officer, she oversaw responses to urgent and long-standing issues including the COVID-19 pandemic, gender equity, police hiring and recruitment, future of work, employee benefits, and affordable housing. Recognized as one of the Top 100 Local Government Leaders in 2018 by Engaging Local Government Leaders, Daflos’ work was also recognized as a Fast Company World Changing Idea. Her work has been featured in the New York Times, Washington Post, LA Times, Fast Company, and U.S. News and World Reports.
