Ian is an experienced engineering leader, sustainability professional, and building performance innovator responsible for managing multimillion-dollar capital projects from original conception to final completion. He currently helms the energy performance of the City of Orlando building portfolio, over 7 million square feet. Continuously driving towards Mayor Dyer’s goal of 100% renewable energy for all City facilities by 2030.
He is an experienced speaker including engagements at Department of Energy Summits, USGBC GreenBuild, ASHRAE Winter Conferences, Smart Cities Council, USDN, and other multi-industry events.
Ian’s experience includes the design and construction of mission-critical facilities, LEED review, and certification for dozens of buildings. He has expertise in construction and building management delivering successful outcomes from capital planning and design through commissioning. Ian also consults privately for Fortune 100 companies specializing in Data center construction turnover, site startup and training for the FacOps teams.
A Florida Native, Ian enjoys spending time volunteering with ASHRAE and USGBC, previously serving on the board of both organizations. In his free time, Ian enjoys exploring the natural landscape and waterways with his wife and young son.
Ian is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Central Florida.
