Stephen is Global Practice Manger for Smart Wastewater Networks at Xylem. Drawing on the full range of Xylem’s technologies, experience and expertise heis developing new approaches to find ever smarter ways to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of sewerage networks and pumping systems.

Stephen holds an MSc in water Management from Cranfield University and is a chartered water and environment manager (C.WEM) and environmentalist (C.Env).

Prior to joining Xylem in summer 2019 Stephen headed Performance, Risk and Optimisation operations for Thames Water in London and Southern England. In this role he oversaw planned maintenance, asset insight and investment into the company’s large wastewater network and pumping operation. 

He has worked across the asset lifecycle in water production, wastewater treatment, distribution and collection. Stephen has specific experience in strategy, asset management, environmental management, regulation and in operations. Specialising in data led operations his technical portfolio has included measurement, monitoring, control, data acquisition, predictive maintenance, automated decision making and data centric decision support solutions.

When Stephen isn’t thinking about water and sewage he is most likely to be found riding a bike up something tall.
