James Gillie currently serves as a GIS Specialist for the City of New Orleans’ Office
of Information Technology and Innovation.
James has been working in GIS for more than a decade and at the City of New
Orleans for over 5 years, primarily in City Planning. James has worked to help
innovate within The City among a number of different sectors including, but not
limited to, Transportation, Health and Safety, and Land Use. Some examples are a
fully digital/web-based version the City of New Orleans Master Plan as well as
several City Planning studies and an interactive PowerBI dashboard of crash data in
New Orleans.
James holds a bachelor's degree in American Studies from The Florida State
University and a Master of Science degree in GIS and Cartography from The
University of Glasgow.
