Energy Resource Manager

Rasheed is the Energy and Resource Manager at the City of Miramar, in this role he is responsible for the City’s sustainable transformation, particularly as it relates to the City’s Green House Gas Reduction program, Electric Vehicle infrastructure, Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy projects. 

Rasheed has prior work experience as an Energy Engineer working for Broward County, Board of County Commissioners, in this role Rasheed’s responsibilities included Building Automation controls as well as Energy Management for critical buildings throughout the County.

Rasheed comes from an Engineering background with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, from the University of Technology (UTECH) in Kingston, Jamaica. Rasheed has over 10 years experience in the HVAC industry, successfully managing various commercial HVAC projects.

Rasheed has maintained an interest in Energy Efficiency throughout his career, he obtained the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credentials in 2017 and completed his Masters in Global Sustainability with a minor in Sustainable Energy from the University of South Florida (USF) in 2021. 

Rasheed pairs his education in Mechanical Engineering with his passion for Sustainability to successfully manage City projects and initiatives which aim to make the city more sustainable. Currently Rasheed is the point of contact for the City of Miramar and its ‘Race to Zero’ commitments which aims to have the City become a Net-Zero City by the year 2050.
