Today, U.S. transportation systems are being rapidly transformed by technological advancements that have the potential to create innovative solutions to a myriad of 21st century mobility challenges. Wes Maurer has been a leading figure in accelerating these advancements through progressive leadership and a history of unique partnership building between public and private sector groups.

Wes currently leads policy and innovation for CDOT mobility operations where he serves as a principal strategist for advancing both traditional and cutting-edge technologies including but not limited to connected and autonomous vehicles, unmanned aircraft systems and big data analytics. In doing so, Wes builds upon his former role at the Colorado governor’s office where he played a key part in developing some of the most progressive policies and programs for next generation mobility in the United States, positioning Colorado as a national leader. 

In the past, Wes’ work has focused more broadly on driving environmental, social and economic change through urban and regional development with organizations such as the National Science Foundation (NSF), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the U.S. Peace Corps.
