Professor Edward J. Blakely is an internationally recognized leader in urban community development and has been directly involved in strategic planning, financing and real estate development and project management for more than thirty years.  

Professor Blakely has extensive experience in economic development and transportation and has led the Cypress Freeway project among others. He teaches urban and rural development, regional policy and community development and has been advisor to state governments in the United States, Australia, Sweden and Japan.  

He currently serves as Director of the Cities Leadership Institute, advisor to the OECD and the West- Central District Commissioner for the Greater Sydney Commission in New South Wales, Australia.
