Retired in 2020 after working for the City of Chicago for 30 years with extensive experience in municipal administrative and management positions. Duties as Deputy Commissioner in Chicago’s Department of Transportation included: overseeing the Division of Electrical Operations that is responsible for constructing and maintaining the city’s street lighting and traffic signal infrastructures.
Michael acted in a leadership role as part of the Chicago Smart Lighting Program’s management team directing and supporting the installation of more than 270,000-plus LED fixtures along with an integrated control network; implementing and managing the city’s underground facilities locating, marking and damage prevention programs protecting the city’s water, sewer, electrical and emergency communication fiber and copper telecom infrastructure.
Michael currently resides in Chicago with his wife and four children and is a master's degree candidate at the University of Chicago. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
