Brenda holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and is a Transportation Engineer (PE) for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) in the Houston District. In her role, she oversees regional planning studies and innovative projects. Brenda has dedicated her career to tackling and solving transportation issues by applying the best transportation, engineering, and planning techniques, technologies, and innovation. Brenda is the Project Manager for Houston ConnectSmart Program, a mobility platform that helps provide ConnectSmart app users in the Houston region with information on multimodal options, services, alerts, and programs from regional partners. ConnectSmart’s goals are to help reduce congestion, improve safety, and connect Houstonians to services provided in the region. Houston ConnectSmart was recognized by AASHTO with innovation awards in 2022 and 2023.
