Jen Tifft is a government leader and advocate for programs and services that enable economic mobility and community development. As the Director of Strategic Initiatives for the City of Syracuse, Jen oversees signature policy initiatives by developing strong partnerships across municipal departments, community organizations, and other key stakeholders. Jen recently led the implementation of the city's Pandemic Recovery Plan, a $123 Million portfolio of investments to enable economic recovery for families and small businesses, and improve the resiliency of public infrastructure. Prior to joining the Mayor’s Office, Jen served as Syracuse’s Deputy Commissioner for Business Development, where she expanded commercial development and incentivized economic inclusion for city residents within entrepreneurship programs and high-tech industries.

Prior to her roles in local government, Jen was a leader in the Government & Public Services Practice at Deloitte Consulting, helping public sector clients improve operational efficiency and provide more effective services to constituents. Jen’s expertise includes strategic planning, business transformation, financial management, performance improvement, innovation, and technology enablement in government and non-profit environments. Jen holds a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree from the Maxwell School at Syracuse University, a Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola University Chicago.
