David Montgomery is a Senior Planner serving in a consolidated multi-jurisdictional public agency, known as the Planning & Community Development Department, serving the City of Sanford, Town of Broadway, and Lee County. David currently heads the Long-Range Planning Division of the Department focusing primarily on Future Land Use Planning and Transportation Planning. Previously, David served as the Historic Preservation Planner for Sanford and Executive Director of Downtown Sanford, Inc. David earned his undergraduate degree at Furman University in Business Administration and Urban Studies followed by a Master in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Florida. In his free time, David along with his wife likes to dabble in real estate redevelopment with a primary focus on historic downtown properties.
