Carlos is LEED Accredited Professional, ENV SP certified, and he has also earned certifications in data analytics and machine learning from MIT Media Lab. He has over 18 years of combined professional and academic experience, including climate resilience and smart city planning, project management, innovation and technology, applied research, and entrepreneurship. He has worked in the private and public sectors under various leadership positions. Latest positions he has held include Infrastructure Project Manager at the City of Miami Beach, FL, Southeast Region Water Resources and Resilience Lead at AECOM, Co-Founder and CEO at Resilience International Lab, and Lead Engineer at RES. Carlos is currently the Innovation Manager at the City of Colorado Springs, CO, where he leads the implementation and growth of the Smart Cities Program.
