Serving as the Smart City Coordinator for the City of Wichita, Michael works within the Information
Technology Department. There he drives digital transformation across the City under the direction of
the Chief Information Officer and City Leadership. Responsible for Smart City initiatives and projects
within the City, Michael has experience taking projects from conception through to completion while
providing decision making metrics and complete business plans. Michael understands the importance of
informed stakeholders, partnerships, and financing. Michael has been charged with ensuring Smart City
projects are well coordinated, designed, and implemented to meet business needs and the goals of the
City.
Michael received his Bachelor’s degree in Environment Studies from the University of Washington and
Master’s in Science from University of Southern California in Geographic Information Science and
Technology studying real time data analytics and modelling natural environments.
