Steve has extensive public policy experience with an expertise in technology, energy and environmental issues. He has served in senior positions in the U.S. Congress, the Executive Branch, and the private sector. Steve began his career in Washington, DC, working for Congressman Bill Richardson, serving as Legislative Director where he managed all legislative activity. He received a Presidential Political Appointment during the Clinton Administration to serve at the U.S. Department of Energy. This included positions as Senior Advisor for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs, and Associate Director of the Office of Policy. He continued practicing energy and environment policy as Managing Director of Government Affairs at the American Gas Association.
Steve currently applies his public policy expertise in the high tech arena, serving as Vice President of Government Affairs for Qualcomm. He focuses on a wide variety of issues including smart cities, grid modernization, environmental compliance and sustainability, cybersecurity, and identity management. He previously served as Director of Government Affairs for Motorola, Inc.
Steve has a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Rollins College, and a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Sciences and Policy from Johns Hopkins University.
