Kristina leads her organization in the implementation of Uppsala’s Energy Program 2050, which entails the radical transformation the local energy system in order to achieve the city’s Climate Positive Target. 


WWF awarded Uppsala the Global Climate City Award 2018. Uppsala is a national leader in solar energy installations and home to the 2018 ISGAN Award Winner with Sweden’s Smartest Electrical grid.  Kristina has led the City’s efforts in solar energy from 2014.
The City of Uppsala is a partner in the Horizon 2020 project, CoordiNet, together with Vattenfall, Eon and the national Swedish Power Grid (SvK). The project will create a local power market and in Uppsala the City will take the roll of an aggregator providing power flexibility services to the local grid. Kristina represents Uppsala in this project as well as number of other smart grid projects.
Kristina received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Tufts University in 2004 and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering with a focus on energy processes in 2006 from Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.
