Peter van Oorschot is Director of North America at TNO Unit Mobility and Built Environment, Proposition Livable and Resilient Cities, where the predictive, interactive, multi-domain digital twin platform Urban Strategy is applied to enable governments, academia, and business to make better land use and transportation planning decisions better and faster. As a worldwide recognized applied science research organization, TNO has innovated on the way the modeling is structured and the technical infrastructure of Urban Planning and transportation planning is supported. Urban Strategy shows the impacts of scenarios of Land Use and transportation plans on transportation, air quality, noise, resilience, and equity within minutes instead of weeks to increase the livability and resilience of cities, regions, and countries.

Prior to joining TNO, Peter spent many years in general management and business development positions, leading mapping, GIS, software, and business acceleration organizations. He has lived and worked in several countries and understands the dynamics of international business while translating it to local needs. 

Peter holds a master’s in Geodetic Engineering from the Technical University of Delft.
